New 4G Network Gives Cincinnati Bell Wireless Customers the Edge on Speed

July 5, 2011

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Cincinnati Bell Inc. (NYSE: CBB) announced today the launch of its 4G wireless network with speeds that are twice as fast as other national wireless companies* and three times faster than its 3G network.

"Every day the people of Greater Cincinnati use wireless phones to share news with friends and family and stream music and video," said Mike Vanderwoude, vice president and general manager of wireless for Cincinnati Bell. "With our new 4G wireless network, they can do all that and more at speeds that are faster than ever."

In conjunction with the launch of its 4G network, Cincinnati Bell also introduced the Huawei Ascend X 4G, a sleek and stylish smartphone that features the Android 2.2 operating system, a 4.1-inch touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel front- and back-facing camera, and a 1-gigahertz processor. The Ascend X 4G from Cincinnati Bell is available with a limited time, buy-one-get-one-free offer for $99 after mail-in rebate and with a two-year equipment agreement and smartphone data plan.

"With our 3G and 4G networks and strong Android, smartphone and tablet product lines, we can provide our customers with access to the cutting-edge wireless technology they crave," explained Vanderwoude, adding that the company plans to add more 4G phones to its line up in the coming months.

Cincinnati Bell’s 4G wireless network encompasses Greater Cincinnati and agreements with national wireless companies allow customers to access 4G networks outside of Cincinnati.
