Federal law and FCC regulations give you a choice about how altafiber uses your account information to meet your future telecommunication needs. These rules are designed to protect your privacy rights as a customer. altafiber values our customers and meeting your communication needs is our top priority. You can count on altafiber to continue to give you the same high quality customer service you've come to rely on.
You have the right and altafiber has the duty to protect the confidentiality of Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI). CPNI is information that is not publicly available that we obtain when providing telecommunications services to you. CPNI includes things such as your types of services, number of telephone lines, usage, and calling and billing records. CPNI does not include customer name, address, or telephone number; aggregate information or data that is not specific to a single customer’s premises equipment; and Internet access services. You have the right to authorize use or non-use of your CPNI by altafiber companies including Cincinnati Bell Telephone Company LLC dba altafiber Network Solutions and Cincinnati Bell Extended Territories LLC dba altafiber connected services (collectively, “altafiber”) and their agents and authorized sales representatives.
How will you benefit from authorizing the use of CPNI?
We may use your CPNI, without further authorization from you, to offer you services of the type you currently buy from us and to share it with other altafiber companies with whom you already have an existing service relationship. With your consent we will be able to offer you a full range of additional solutions tailored to your needs, such as other products and services, packages, discounts and promotions from other altafiber companies, which are different from what you already buy from us. Without permission to use your CPNI, altafiber may not be able to offer you advanced telecommunication services and solutions and to continually improve the way you do business with us.
Will altafiber protect this CPNI information if you allow us to use it?
Absolutely. Regardless of your decision, altafiber will keep your information confidential. Giving altafiber authorization allows us to further customize the services we can provide to you, our valued customer. Restricting our use of your CPNI for marketing purposes will not affect the provision of any altafiber products or services to which you subscribe.
How do you supply us with consent?
When you sign up for service, you automatically give altafiber permission to use your CPNI after 30 days, unless you expressly tell us otherwise in writing, orally or via electronic methods. If at any time you change your mind, call altafiber at (513) 566-4101 (for residential customers) or (513) 566-5050 (for business customers). Your instructions to us will remain in effect until you notify us otherwise.

What is altafiber’s authentication process when you contact us?
Federal privacy rules require us to authenticate the identity of customers prior to disclosing or discussing CPNI. Customers who call our customer service center or visit our offices in person to discuss their CPNI can expect our representatives to verify their identity. altafiber may use one of the following customer authentication methods:
- Calling the customer back at the telephone number associated with the customer’s account;
- Requesting the customer provide a pre-established password and/or PIN;
- Requesting the customer present a valid photo identification (e.g. a current driver’s license);
- Emailing the requested information to the customer’s email address on record; or
- Mailing the requested information to the customer’s address of record.
Changes to Our CPNI Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to amend this CPNI policy at any time and will notify you by updating the “Last Updated” header above. It is your responsibility to periodically review this policy to determine whether any amendments have been made hereto. We may, in our sole discretion, provide you with communications, including via email or text messages, about changes to this policy.
